We make excuses all the time why we can't do things, especially when it comes to exercise. Adam Gorlitsky doesn't believe in "can't." Ten years ago, Adam was told he would never walk again. But that didn't stop him.
Out with the old and in with the new seems to be an overlapping theme every new year. While I agree, I am ready to say goodbye to a few bad hair days and poorly paired outfits, I also want to bring some of my 2014 favorites with me into this next adventure. Here are a few must-haves to keep you focused, motivated, and inspired through the new year:
My planner holds my life, and I could not start a new year full of incredible plans and dreams without writing them all down in my delicately designed and personalized life planner. Whether you're spending your days in a classroom or in a business suit, this planner will perfectly fit your lifestyle.
This creamy rooibos tea is my favorite seasonal beverage. It is caffeine and calorie free and is perfect for a cozy afternoon, snuggled up with your favorite blanket and a good book. Pick up a cup to-go or buy a tin to make your new favorite tea at home.
I'm not talking about a box conveniently located fully stocked with band-aids, although this Swedish duo is sure to cure any sour mood with their indie folk tunes. This up-and-coming set of sisters are transforming the music world with 3 albums, all available on iTunes.
My go-to for all things current events, theSkimm sends daily emails Monday - Friday (excluding holidays) with brief summaries and links to articles about what is happening in the world. It's perfect for busy bees and on-the-go individuals who can't spare an hour to catch the latest Good Morning America (my favorite morning show).
5. Your own personal dash of inspiration.
I find it useful to create something that serves as a constant reminder of the goals I have set for myself for the upcoming year. I paint a canvas and on the backside I write my New Year's Resolution and include a quote that I want to motivate me through my upcoming endeavors. It's my "Resolution Canvas" and it keeps me going.
Find what inspires you. Wishing you the happiest year full of sweet joy and exciting adventures.
